What a controversial take for the world we live in. Love that isn't based on conditions or what you can gain from proximity. Love that doesn't give up on the first misunderstanding. Love that doesn't seek itself first. Love that actively seeks the best for others. It's not common, but neither is God.

In my quiet time, God revealed that Peace is not the absence of adverse conditions, it is His gift to those that love Him. It is an inner calm and serenity, a stability no matter what is going on around you, and the ability to trust His Heart when His Hand seems still.

Have you ever found yourself trudging through the days? Focusing on "getting through" instead of expecting the best, the miraculous, or the beautiful to happen?    The first theme of Advent - HOPE - reminds us to look beyond our circumstances, with a joyful expectation of how God will fulfill His promises to us.   God made the promise of a Messiah to Israel hundreds of years before Christ came to Earth. Hundreds. Of. Years. Whew! Can you imagine? The first few months or year

"The more I thought about it, the question I asked myself switched from, “What can I do?” to “What do I want? What can I actually handle? What would I love waking up to every day? What would my life need to look like for that to happen?” 

I had been working to excess, instead of allowing working with excellence and integrity to be enough. I had forgotten moderation. I had forgotten Grace... But God hadn’t forgotten me. 

And I froze. I had not visited those words in what felt like forever. Have you ever felt this way before, CEO? Where one question breaks something open in you that makes you see everything differently?

Sometimes when life throws us curveballs--when God allows the very unexpected to happen--it can stop us dead in our tracks.
