Mid-Year Check-In: Pt. 2 - What do you really want?

🎶 I’ll tell you what I want, what I really really want!🎶

Do you remember this song?

The Spice Girls (I was a HUGE fan lol) knew exactly what they wanted and they weren’t afraid to tell us - with clarity, boldness, and joy. There was no ambiguity.

Do you know what you want?”

This was the question I asked myself as I wrestled with the changes of 2025.

Not what are you good at, what comes easily, or what do people ask/pay/expect you to do. Simply, what do you want?

And I froze. I had not visited those words in what felt like forever.

I realized I had settled into doing what had to be done. Meeting and exceeding client expectations. Staying up to date on constantly evolving industry trends. Keeping business moving forward.

But it had been months since I stopped to checkin and ask, “What lights me up—and frees me to serve at my best?”

That simple question changed everything. It made me look at my life and business with new eyes.

Suddenly I wasn’t viewing business from a place of obligation or responsibility. I was examining if this work brought me joy, made me feel fulfilled, was supporting my journey back to health/wellness, or worth the time, effort, and money needed to make it work.

I got brutally honest. No polishing the details. No letting optimism pretty up the truth. I needed to have a real conversation, a true assessment of where I was, so I could dream again about where I wanted to go.

Have you ever felt this way before, CEO? Where one question breaks something open in you that makes you see everything differently?

I realized something had gotten lost in the shuffle: ME.

But then I was reminded of this verse:

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”  Psalm 37:4 ESV

When we delight (find pleasure, joy, fulfillment in, and spend, time with God), He wants to give us the desires of our heart. He wants us to have joy in doing the work we were created to do (Ephesians 2:10).

So I’ll ask again,

What do you (really, really) want?

Here are a few questions to help you dig a little deeper.

  • What would an ideal work day or week feel like for you?

  • What would it look like for your work and personal lives to be in harmony?

  • What do you desire that you haven’t let yourself see as possible (before now)?

  • Is the business, work, or community you’re building still the vision or version of success you desire?

Remember:

You are allowed to change your mind. You are allowed to pivot. You are allowed to desire something different. You are allowed to make room for something sent straight from Heaven. (We’ll go deeper on this in the Pray Plan Profit Planner.)
