Mid-Year Check-In: How are you?

Updated: Aug 12

A field of flowers, a lake, and mountains.

I hope this blog post finds you well and enjoying the beautiful summer months. It has been a while since we've talked, and I'm so happy to be back with you.

Over the last several months, I've had some pressing health issues, a loss in our family, and managing intense client project work. I've also had to make some major adjustments due to government policy changes, some that impacted finding a printer for the Pray Plan Profit CEO Planner.

Navigating all of this has forced me to be brutally honest about my shifting priorities and current capacity.

Sometimes when life throws us curveballs--when God allows the very unexpected to happen--it can stop us dead in our tracks. Other times we just keep plowing through. I chose to find a middle ground. I listened when God invited me to slow down and I kept moving where I had to.

I looked at everything - financials, clients, services, and the current industry climate.

Most of all I revisited what I want life and work to look like.

I was honest with myself about the toll and the victories of the last few years, and how I want business to be different moving forward--how I want to be different moving forward.

I'm still working through it, but I'm starting to see some traction on the changes I've made and it's encouraging.

Maybe it's that we are approaching the half-year mark or that I'm close to wrapping up another personal year of life. Either way I'm thankful for the time to reflect, the information to refocus, and the chance to recalibrate and end the year fulfilled.

Now I have to ask, how are you?

When was the last time you checked in with yourself?

When was the last time you intentionally assessed your business?

Not only your successes, but the places that feel a little hollow, no longer aligned, or more of a burden than a blessing.

If you haven't, or it's been a while since you have, I'm going to share a few questions to get you started as we wrap up the first half of the year this month.

Business

  • Has 2025 felt chaotic or consistent?

  • What hidden gems might you have overlooked?

  • Are there any new opportunities or obstacles that keep coming up for you?

  • Is your business thriving as planned or have circumstances knocked you off course?

Personal

  • Has 2025 felt chaotic or consistent?

  • Are your relationships flailing or thriving?

  • Are you taking care of yourself or dealing with health issues you didn't see coming?

Life In General

  • Do you need to make changes to protect your bottom line and your waistline?

  • Have you taken a look at the success you're chasing and asked yourself if it is still the happy ending you're after?

Take some time to go through these questions. Next, pick the option below that is most accurate for you this year.

  • My business and I are as healthy as can be! 🎊

  • My business is doing well, but I’m struggling a bit. 🫠

  • My business is not doing so hot, but I’m great! 😃

  • My business and I both need some attention - stat! 🩺

Then share it with me by sending me a quick message to let me know how you're doing and what area you want to focus on for the next quarter/rest of the year.

Remember:

  • "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." Isaiah 43:2 KJV

  • "And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV

I'm also sharing a resource below (Navigating Your CEO Journey) that has helped me navigate this year, and the different seasons of entrepreneurship well. The training outlines the steps in your leadership journey, biblical examples of leaders managing challenges and successes, and key actions to take in the start, build, and grow seasons in business.

I needed these biblical and practical I reminders. I listened to it again--from start to finish--recently and it was such a blessing!

Let me know how I can support you in the work you're doing to lead & live well. If you need 1-on-1 support, remember we're only a click away. I am praying and rooting for you!
